Barbie girl

Pauls Boutique's done it again-made me want to spend my whole loan, and stop buying food, just so I can have everyone of their new Barbie range of bags!Even better than their last collaboration with Barbie, I HAVE to have one this time. I'm thinking one of the top 3 I've put on here. I'l keep you posted on my purchase!!

WGSN photographer visit.

Today we had a talk from a guy who takes photographs on the street for style website WGSN. I thought it was great, and he was absolutely hilarious.
There were archives and archives of photos that he'd taken from along his youth to now, so there were pictures of Sid Viscious amongst them. He also explained how he's really into photographing menswear at the moment, looking back at vintage photos as well. As I've mentioned before, I'm love styling and have thought about the careers that would go along with that, but I also love people watching and outfit spotting, so how amazing would it be to do what he does and take photos of peoples style as a job!!!!!!!!
He went into a bit about style and which men we thought had great style. One that he mentioned was the editor of t magazine I think it was, the magazine that goes with the New York Times. Who I have to agree does know how to dress, on a personal leval, I love Cook from Skins, that sort of Mod look, with the Fred Perry shirts and slim trousers.
Today alsomade me think that yes, I love styling for women, but I've always been quite opinionated on what I think looks good on guys, and when doing the shirt excercise with Claire and styling it for a D&G man, I really enjoyed picking out the style of jeans I thought would wor best and the cardigans, or watch etc. So maybe another career path to think about.

Visiting tutor lessons

For the past few weeks we've had Claire, a visiting tutor come in to give us a few lessons on all things fashion design and styling. To be honest I didn't find the first few particularly helpful. I felt they were more design based than for us promoters such as having to draw our class (i dont do drawing!) and didn't find the make an accessory that useful either.
However, lastweek we had to team up with a designer, theyhad to redesign a shirt and then we had to style. I was with Amelia, who took a mens checked shirt, adding chiffon to the back and sides, with a bow at the neck and ruffles. As for my pp i'm doing iconic designer styling with Dolce and Gabbana, therefore I tried to style the shirt as D&G would. This helped me start to think properly about the characteristics of D&G and how i would represent this in the styling. Lace and abit of bling was the main aspects that I used for this excercise.
I've also started to pick up little bits and pieces in shops that I see along the way which I think would be useful for my final shoot.
